{"id":43992,"date":"2020-04-14T02:11:38","date_gmt":"2020-04-13T23:11:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.russian-mayolica.com\/?p=43992"},"modified":"2021-02-03T02:18:21","modified_gmt":"2021-02-02T23:18:21","slug":"fairytale-relief-tiles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.russian-mayolica.com\/de\/relief-tiles\/fairytale-relief-tiles\/","title":{"rendered":"Fairytale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>These are carved <a href=\"\/relief-tiles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">relief tiles<\/a> with fairytale characters based on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.russian-mayolica.ru\/wp-content\/cache\/thumb\/3b\/1f904b737ab0d3b_800x0_notrise.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Ivan Bilibin&#8217;s illustrations<\/a> and painted in various color gamuts.<\/p>\n<p>The tiles have inverse relief &#8211; unlike the normal relief where the image itself is voluminous, it is the contours of the image that have depth.<\/p>\n<p>This technique replicates the cloisonn\u00e9, though instead of using metal wire welded to a base as a divider for glaze the clay of the tile is used. The resulting cells are filled with various glazes, and then the relief tile undergoes firing.<\/p>\n<p>These reliefs are also well suited with the <a href=\"\/rilief-tiles\/arabesque-relief-tiles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Arabesque tiles<\/a> of the same size (175&#215;175 mm) and with Russian Art Nouveau motifs stylized in neo-russian style.
