We long wanted to make replicas of this wonderful relief, and here we had the opportunity to use the Peacock Eye motif for decorating a tiled stove.

The overall image of our stove is distinctive of the Neo-Russian style, which involves a combination of relief massifs and homogeneous structured surfaces (for example, brick or plaster), framed by various beat forms using relief and twisted elements. The neo-Russian style is characterized by rich decoration with the strictness of architectural and stylistic processing and order.

Examples of this style in Moscow are merchant Igumnov’s house, the building of the Tretyakov Gallery, the Schukin mansion, the building of the Yaroslavl station and many other famous edifices. They all have differences, but they have common stylistic features.

Our russian tiled stove also has a clear and logical architecture of decor, formed by the tiled Peacock Eye frieze and a plain majolica framed by relief ‘pencils’ and twisted columns.

The ceramic murals of this russian tiled stove are made in slab technique and are put together into a complete picture like a puzzle. Painting on the panel, made by our artist Julia Komissarova based on Ivan Bilibin’s paintings, supports a single stylistic concept.

In general, the main panel of the stove turned out to be symbolic: two riders – Black representing night and Red symbolizing day, are sent to each other from the edges and meet at the rising sun in the center of the panel.

The stove turned out to be extraordinary: bright, very saturated in color, but completely stylistically seasoned and elegant.

We present to you a large Russian tiled stove with a stove bed is covered in tiles and ceramic art murals based on the works of Russian artist Ivan Bilibin.
