{"id":46746,"date":"2020-04-14T02:11:38","date_gmt":"2020-04-13T23:11:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.russian-mayolica.com\/?p=46746"},"modified":"2022-05-30T00:35:15","modified_gmt":"2022-05-29T21:35:15","slug":"chinoiserie-tiled-fireplace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.russian-mayolica.com\/de\/tiled-stove\/chinoiserie-tiled-fireplace\/","title":{"rendered":"Chinoiserie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A chinoiserie <a href=\"\/tiled-stove\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tiled fireplace<\/a> with picturesque murals in the huaniao genre (flowers and birds), very common in the Qing period, carved Chinese gratings and pagoda-shaped cornices.<\/p>\n<p>The request for a chinoiserie tiled fireplace came from a passionate lover of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.russian-mayolica.ru\/our-story\/keramika-mira\/keramika-kitaya\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Far Eastern culture<\/a>, the owner of a collection of Chinese furniture, paintings and objects of decorative and applied arts. Therefore, the style of the fireplace was determined early on, in accordance with the general style of the room and numerous objects of Chinese art.<\/p>\n<p>For us, the task looked very interesting, although the modern architecture of the fireplace with a panoramic firebox did not simplify the task. Nevertheless, it was decided not to rebuild the fireplace, but to use three key decorative elements that make up the Chinese style: an inverted cornice, which, in silhouette, resembles the characteristic roof slopes of traditional Chinese buildings, large relief tiles in the form of Chinese carved lattices, and of course, <a href=\"\/tile-murals\/chinoiserie-ceramic-murals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">three vertical paintings full of symbolism and hidden meanings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, the simple and modern architecture of the fireplace started to to emphasize the desired style, and as a result we got an overall idea compliant, fully finished work in the Chinese style.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A chinoiserie tiled fireplace with picturesque murals in the huaniao genre (flowers and birds), very common in the Qing period, carved Chinese gratings and pagoda-shaped cornices.
