About Russian Majolica

Russian Majolica

Our ceramic atelier is an association of artists and ceramists many of whom are members of various professional societies and associations based on family craft businesses.

This is why our works are of authorship even when we rework famous historical objects of art or use our standard molds.

This is also why you can get exceptional art objects made for your home in one singular exemplar. Even when they are made using our standard molds, there’s always a unique component to them: low relief murals, carved ceramics, art murals or complex multilayered brilliant glazing.

The Artistic Ceramic Murals for the kitchen backsplash featuring a landscape with a chalet in the French Art Nouveau style in ocher brown tones

The artistic ceramic mural is made for the kitchen backsplash and is framed by majolica tiles in translucent glaze of different colors.

Quite interesting is the background of this tile panel’s creation: the customer, a talented artist, really wanted the mural to depict her house surrounded by trees, with a cat on the lawn being a must. Therefore, we were provided with a drawing of the customer’s actual house.

It should be noted that this house’s design was obviously based on the creation of the brilliant French architect of the Art Nouveau era, Henri Sauvage – the famous Villa Majorelle in Nancy. Therefore, we, of course, were inspired by this picture and transferred such a charming architectural object with such wonderful roots onto ceramics with great pleasure.
