About Russian Majolica

Russian Majolica

Our ceramic atelier is an association of artists and ceramists many of whom are members of various professional societies and associations based on family craft businesses.

This is why our works are of authorship even when we rework famous historical objects of art or use our standard molds.

This is also why you can get exceptional art objects made for your home in one singular exemplar. Even when they are made using our standard molds, there’s always a unique component to them: low relief murals, carved ceramics, art murals or complex multilayered brilliant glazing.

A huge ceramic outdoor kitchen in the Moorish Mudejar style with characteristic carved ornaments, arched vault and geometric multi-colored  ceramic murals. The kitchen includes a barbecue, bread oven, stove and countertop with built-in sink and cupboards.

Two Mudejar-style objects served as the inspirations for creating this ceramic kitchen – the Alhambra Palace in Granada and Morozov’s mansion in Moscow. The main entrance of the mansion on Vozdvizhenka became the basis for the design of barbecue’s architecture, and the wicker-like carvings of the Alhambra Palace prompted the development of the tile decor ornaments.

Our Moorish-style ceramic outdoor kitchen is voluminous and has carved relief, which is additionally emphasized by majolica glazes. The combination of translucent and opaque glazes made it possible to distinguish the crown and the framing of the arch without splitting large spaces with ripples of majolica. But its sparks and radiance give precious ‘realness’ to the reliefs, turning a huge object into a real architectural work of art, which has charm and extraordinary appeal.
