This classic tiled fireplace in beige and brown, is completely painted with landscapes of Venice based on the famous paintings of 19th and 20th century artists. The works we used as a basis for making our ceramic replicas for this classic tiled fireplace include paintings by Antonietta Brandeis and Luigi Ferrazzi. These are wonderful views of the Venetian churches with sailboats on the Grand Canal and the famous Rialto Bridge or, as it is also called, the Bridge of Kisses.
The upper ceramic murals is based on the picture of the Russian artist Andrei Sterkhov, a brilliant master of urban landscape enamored with Venice. The artist is masterfully conveying the atmosphere of the wonderful city in his canvasses. The panorama of the Grand Canal with numerous sailboats is displayed on the panel, and the domes of Venice’s most famous St. Mark’s Cathedral are emerging over the roofs of the houses.
The style of the classic tiled fireplace is designed in the manner of the St. Petersburg tiled stoves preserved in the palaces of Peterhof and Tsarskoye Selo. These are the characteristic baroque frames in which landscapes are enclosed. The ornament of the frames on our fireplace is significantly more complex in comparison to the traditional ornaments of old and antique stoves. This is due to the applied painting style. Ceramic murals appear on this tiled fireplace as paintings enclosed in complex frames.
