About Russian Majolica

Russian Majolica

Our ceramic atelier is an association of artists and ceramists many of whom are members of various professional societies and associations based on family craft businesses.

This is why our works are of authorship even when we rework famous historical objects of art or use our standard molds.

This is also why you can get exceptional art objects made for your home in one singular exemplar. Even when they are made using our standard molds, there’s always a unique component to them: low relief murals, carved ceramics, art murals or complex multilayered brilliant glazing.

This is a small sauna stove with a very interesting steam room part.

Around the metal stone-keeping “basket” there is a brick body made from the so-called “loft” handmade brick. The upper part of the body has doors through which the water will be poured down on incandescent rocks thus creating steam.

The frontal part of the body, specifically the area around the doors is adorned by our ceramic mural comprised from the pinecone tiles and the ceramic borders of our National Romanticism series and a sculpted mural with large pine branches, bulbous cones and smooth monotone majolica. Thin borders frame the mural, giving the whole composition a great finish.

Our sauna stove is engirdled by a small countertop clad with special rounded tiles.

Every single relief is painted with a classic trine of translucent glazes: emerald, azure and cobalt.

The glossy ceramic azure matches the rough red brick so well that the stove turns out balanced and harmonic – it looks surprisingly whole despite the very close and obvious relation of the decorative elements with the Northern Art Nouveau.
