About Russian Majolica

Russian Majolica

Our ceramic atelier is an association of artists and ceramists many of whom are members of various professional societies and associations based on family craft businesses.

This is why our works are of authorship even when we rework famous historical objects of art or use our standard molds.

This is also why you can get exceptional art objects made for your home in one singular exemplar. Even when they are made using our standard molds, there’s always a unique component to them: low relief murals, carved ceramics, art murals or complex multilayered brilliant glazing.

This is an elegant handmade relief ceramic mural for the stove in the Art Nouveau style.

The stucco mural with stylized rose hips are covered in metallized glaze which enhances the antique feel by imitating reductive firing, which was widely employed in ceramic decor at the end of 19th-beginning of 20th century.

This ceramic mural was made for fireplaces in the Art Nouveau style. One such fireplace has been installed in a private house in Provence – it’s a fireplace of a soft mint color with a nacre effect. Second fireplace, an olive-colored fireplace with metallized briar leaves, is in a cottage in Moscow suburbs. You can see the olive fireplace in this page.

The relief mural turned out incredible! Flushes of glaze give the ceramic depth and shine, the metallics shade the relief, adding restrained beauty and putting accents on rose hip flowers and leaves.

The mural is created in high relief slab technique; the painting is made in majolica technique.
