Our ceramic mural has been made for a splashback and is framed by olive tiles of different shades matching the background panels color. The colors of the mural are different from William Morris’s original work.
The panel has been made in a slab technique, and its cuts exactly repeat the silhouettes of birds and openwork branches, which allows viewers to perceive the image as a whole without splitting it into equal squares. This method also adds relief to the image, so that glazes and paints play in the light, transforming the picture and animating it with the optical depth of glazes applied.
