About Russian Majolica

Russian Majolica

Our ceramic atelier is an association of artists and ceramists many of whom are members of various professional societies and associations based on family craft businesses.

This is why our works are of authorship even when we rework famous historical objects of art or use our standard molds.

This is also why you can get exceptional art objects made for your home in one singular exemplar. Even when they are made using our standard molds, there’s always a unique component to them: low relief murals, carved ceramics, art murals or complex multilayered brilliant glazing.

A tiled stove Art Nouveau style in a delicate mint color with a large sculpted snow-covered tree on the front facade.

The stove was developed based on antique stoves in the national romanticism style in the northwestern region, where the main emphasis in the decor was on the color and effects of glazes.

Usually northern tiled stove Art Nouveau have a laconic architecture and one dominant decor – panels, ornamental friezes, etc. They are still very attractive with their refined restraint to this day; they perfectly fit into modern interiors. These furnaces do not require that the room is designed to fit them and do not dominate in space, although they charm and incline to the endless contemplation of their pure beauty.

Our tiled stove Art Nouveau style is designed at the junction of two types of Art Nouveau sub-styles – national romanticism, also called Northern Art Nouveau, and German Art Nouveau, which bears another name – Jugendstil. From national romanticism, there is a strict architecture of the furnace, complemented only by large curved cornices. Jugendstil is represented by a wonderful, almost elven, tree covered with a nacre effect glaze, which made branches and leaves seem slightly powdered with sparkling snow.

Majolica plays of pure mint glaze flicker and sparkle in the light, change their shades depending on the lighting and shine with beauty, which photos cannot fully show, captivating and delighting the viewer.
